How Rian Ru Began
Rian Ru — the name comes from the Thai phrase meaning "to learn and know" — was founded in Chiang Mai in 2021 by a small team of educators and software practitioners who noticed a gap. Many people were curious about artificial intelligence but found the available materials either too fast, too jargon-heavy, or simply designed for someone else. The programs they encountered seemed to assume you were already halfway there.
So the founding team took a different approach. They wrote programs from first principles, tested them with small cohorts of learners, gathered honest feedback, and refined. The result is a set of carefully sequenced courses — three at present — that respect where each learner is starting from and build knowledge without rushing past the parts that need time.
Rian Ru operates entirely online from its base in the Nimman area of Chiang Mai. Programs are taught in English and are open to learners across Thailand and the wider region. Everything we do is oriented toward one outcome: people finishing a program feeling genuinely capable, not just certificate-holding.

Kanya spent a decade in applied machine learning before shifting her focus to education. She wrote the foundational structure for all three Rian Ru programs and still reviews every major curriculum update.

Nattawut has guided over 200 learners through the intermediate and advanced programs. He specialises in model building and enjoys breaking down difficult topics into workable steps.

Learner Experience & Support
Siriporn manages onboarding, answers learner questions, and keeps the community space a welcoming one. She's often the first point of contact for anyone who has a question before enroling.
Standards
How We Maintain Quality
Every program is held to the same practical standards, reviewed regularly, and updated when the field moves.
Curriculum Review Cycle
Programs are reviewed every six months by the curriculum team to ensure content reflects current tools and practices in AI development.
Learner Feedback Integration
Every cohort completes a structured feedback survey. Findings are reviewed by the program lead and inform the next curriculum iteration.
Data Privacy Practices
Learner data is held securely, used only for program management, and never shared with third parties. We follow Thai PDPA requirements and apply additional care in our internal handling.
Mentor Qualification
All mentors have demonstrable professional experience in AI or machine learning. They complete an internal onboarding process before working with learners.
Exercise Accuracy Standards
All practical exercises and example code are tested before inclusion in a program. We flag and correct any issues that learners report during their studies.
Secure Learning Environment
The learning platform uses encrypted connections. Access is individual and tied to the enrolment record to protect each learner's account and progress data.
AI Education Designed for Steady Progress
Rian Ru sits within a growing community of technology educators in Northern Thailand, and we see our role as practical and grounded. We're not trying to produce the fastest learners — we're trying to produce the most capable ones, people who have worked through real problems and understand what they're doing and why.
Our three programs cover the full entry-to-intermediate-to-professional pathway in AI development: from foundational programming and machine-learning concepts, through hands-on data and model work, to full development, evaluation, and deployment skills. Each is designed to stand on its own or feed naturally into the next.
We work with learners from across Thailand and from neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia, many of whom are studying alongside existing work or study commitments. The self-paced format and responsive mentor support are what make that possible — and what we think set Rian Ru apart from programs that assume learning happens on a fixed schedule.
